To increase the investment attractiveness of the region, the Bashkortostan Development Corporation has begun to implement the methodology of ESG principles, which assumes compliance with environmental, social and corporate standards by enterprises. Since Bashkortostan became a pilot project for the implementation of this program, the agency received the first audit results, according to which, in the future, the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, as well as the Institute of Knowledge Economics will determine the rating of preferential zones that most successfully implement ESG principles in their work.
-The sustainable development program is rapidly penetrating the activities of many industrial facilities. The introduction of ESG on infrastructure sites gives great advantages when it comes to attracting investors. Being the management company of such infrastructure sites as the SEZ “Alga” and the industrial park “Ufa”, the Development Corporation develops and implements a whole range of measures aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, — said Nail Gabbasov, Director General of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Non-financial reporting is published on the websites of the special economic zone “Alga” and the industrial park “Ufa”. The implementation of the principles of sustainable development was evaluated according to several criteria: ecology, society and management. Earlier, the Development Corporation hosted the work of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia on the formation of master models of infrastructure sites aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. Based on the results of the work carried out, the participants formed a strategy to achieve key ESG indicators at the infrastructure sites of the republic.
