The special economic zone “Alga” was noted in the list of significant events of Bashkortostan over the past two decades, compiled by 1MI Holding and ANO “IRI”, which are engaged in the implementation of the national project “20 main events of Russia in 20 years”. As part of the work carried out, the answers to the main questions of the researchers were given by residents of Russia from 18 to 35 years old, members of the focus groups. From the events that took place in Bashkortostan, the republic’s breakthrough into the leaders in terms of investment attractiveness was noted, including the creation in the region of a number of zones with preferential treatment, which include the SEZ “Alga”.
— Since the creation of the SEZ “Alga” in 2019, 12 residents have been registered on its territory with a total investment of more than 25 billion rubles. We have residents whose projects have no analogues in Russia, for example, the Bioron company, which plans to produce vitamin B2 (riboflavin),” said Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
According to the results of 2021, Alga was recognized as the most dynamically developing SEZ among the Russian special economic zones of industrial and production type and the “Discovery of the Year”.
— We plan to expand the territories of the SEZ “Alga”. The federal authorities supported this initiative. The Government of Bashkortostan, together with the Development Corporation, has prepared a Roadmap for its implementation and is currently working on forming an application to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia for the inclusion of the Ufa Industrial Park in the Alga SEZ,” Nail Gabbasov said.
