Bashkortostan has entered the top five in the ESG ranking of Russian regions, coming in fourth place. The assessment of the performance of Russian regions in the environmental, social, and governance spheres was carried out on more than 130 indicators by the Russian nonprofit organization Environmental Protection Foundation – Ecofon. These rating indicators are based on open data from government ministries, departments, and interdepartmental information systems. The efficiency of the Alga Special Economic Zone (SEZ) increased by 59% in 2023. Such data were published by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. The authorities of Bashkortostan have applied for the expansion of the territory of the special economic zone “Alga”. The package of documents has been sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The preparation of the application, according to which the territory of the SEZ “Alga” is proposed to be increased by 106 hectares at the expense of land plots in the Ufa district, was carried out on behalf of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, who noted the high pace of development of the preferential zone and the increased demand of investors for its production sites.
