The authorities of Bashkortostan have applied for the expansion of the territory of the special economic zone “Alga”. The package of documents has been sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The preparation of the application, according to which the territory of the SEZ “Alga” is proposed to be increased by 106 hectares at the expense of land plots in the Ufa district, was carried out on behalf of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, who noted the high pace of development of the preferential zone and the increased demand of investors for its production sites. So, if the application is approved, the total area of the SEZ “Alga” will be 869 hectares.
The preparation of the application for the expansion of the territory of the SEZ “Alga” was carried out by its management company, the Development Corporation, together with the Regional Project Office of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Development Corporation, spoke about the prospects of including new land plots in the SEZ.
– The expansion of the special economic zone will allow the preferential treatment to be extended to new territories, attract new investors, create jobs and contribute to an increase in tax generation to budgets of all levels. The advantage of expanding the SEZ for investors is that they will be able to claim all the preferences due to residents: tax benefits, as well as the operation of a free customs zone,” Nail Gabbasov stressed.
The Development Corporation noted that there are already a number of applicants for land plots planned to be included in the SEZ.
– Now the special economic zone “Alga” is filled by almost 60% and the demand for production sites is constantly growing. That is why the regional authorities are considering the possibility of expanding it in several directions. So, we started work on the inclusion of new land plots located in the Ufa district into the SEZ after the formation of a pool of potential residents. These include the manufacturer of separators for the production of starter, traction and stationary lead-acid batteries “1AK Separator”, the manufacturer of polycrystalline diamond cutters “Plant of Superhard Materials”, as well as the initiator of the construction of a plant for the production of equipment for packing and dosing liquid materials in various containers – the company “MVS Mechatronics”, Nail Gabbasov said.
Recall that the special economic zone “Alga” was created in 2020 on the initiative of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov in the territories of Ishimbay and Sterlitamak districts. In 2023, the territory of the Ufa Industrial Park was included in the special economic zone. The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin. Thus, as a result of the expansion, the total area of the SEZ “Alga” increased from 465 hectares to 763 hectares. The preparation of the application for the inclusion of the industrial park in the SEZ was also conducted by the Development Corporation. To date, 22 companies with a total declared investment volume of about 65 billion rubles are residents of the SEZ “Alga”.
