Bashkortostan and Armenia will cooperate in the development of preferential zones. The Development Corporation of the Republic, which is the management company of the SEZ “Alga”, has signed relevant memoranda with the free economic zones “Meghri” and “Alliance” of the Republic of Armenia. The signing took place within the framework of the first International Congress “Transport and Construction” in Ufa.
– Signing of memoranda with colleagues from Armenia is a step aimed at cooperation in the fields of research, implementation of international practices for the implementation of investment projects in the development of preferential zones, – said Nail Gabbasov, Director General of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan. – In the course of our work, we intend to develop and implement mechanisms and joint action programs. From our side, we are ready to share our experience in managing the special economic zone “Alga” and attracting investors to its sites.
The Development Corporation noted that the foreign experience of preferential zones will help to correctly build the vector of movement in this direction on the territory of Bashkortostan.

The Meghri Free Economic Zone has been created since 2017 on the Armenian-Iranian border territory of the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia. Unlike the free economic zones already operating in Armenia, there are practically no industry restrictions for future users of the free economic zone in Meghri. Economic activities include trade, tourism, hospitality and entertainment. Since 2021, Megri Free Economic Zone CJSC has been a member of the World Association of Free Economic Zones.
The Alliance Free Economic Zone was established in 2013, its work is focused on the production and export of high and innovative technologies in the fields of electronics, precision engineering, pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies, information technology, alternative energy, industrial design and telecommunications, as well as in the production of products not produced on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
