A regular meeting of the Expert Council of the special economic zone “Alga” was held today, during which a project for the production of synthetic higher fatty alcohols was approved.
The initiator of the project – the company LLC “FARUS-SYNTHESIS” — plans to build a plant in the SEZ “Alga” for the production of synthetic higher fatty alcohols with a production capacity of 48 thousand tons per year. The volume of investments will amount to 14.7 billion rubles, 400 new jobs will be created.
The main consumers of the plant’s products will be enterprises of the light, petrochemical industry, as well as manufacturers of cosmetics and personal care products. Currently, there is no industrial production of such types of alcohols on the territory of Russia. The implementation of the project will allow replacing imported analogues and meeting the needs of chemical and petrochemical enterprises.
To date, the project is the largest in the SEZ “Alga”. In addition, the investment project is included by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in the List of priority projects for the production of low-tonnage and medium-tonnage chemical products.
The RB Development Corporation, which is the management company of the SEZ “Alga”, conducted an examination of the business plan of the project and provided consulting support. In the near future, it is planned to conclude an agreement with FARUS-SINTEZ LLC on conducting industrial and production activities on the territory of the SEZ and the inclusion of the company in the register of residents of the SEZ “Alga”.
