The Government of Bashkortostan, the regional Development Corporation and LLC “Territory for the Development of electric transport “MAZ-Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant” (TRET “MAZ-UTTZ”) have identified the main stages of the implementation of a large-scale investment project in the territory of the special economic zone “Alga”. The roadmap for the implementation of the initiative was signed as part of a working meeting on the creation of a Russian-Belarusian investment cluster. The unified system solution makes it possible to reduce costs, increase production volumes and increase the competitiveness of projects. This is how the initiative to create an investment and production cooperation in the format of a “Russian-Belarusian investment cluster” appeared, within which algorithms can be configured.
– Starting in 2025, Bashkortostan has been implementing a joint project “MAZ-UTTZ Electric Transport Development Area” for the production and localization of modern trolleybuses. Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant JSC has been developing in the field of electric transport for more than ten years and has made Bashkortostan one of the leaders in the production of trolleybuses in Russia. The company plans to become the first resident of the Russian-Belarusian investment cluster being created,” said Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy.
The creation of the Russian-Belarusian investment cluster is supposed to be on a “mirror basis” with the use of a unique set of investor support measures. As Mikhail Izotov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, noted, the next important step is the regulatory consolidation of the Cluster’s status by concluding an appropriate international agreement. The territory for the development of electric transport is going to be created in the SEZ “Alga” – on land plots in the Ufa district, which are soon planned to be connected to existing production sites. The Development Corporation is the management company of the SEZ, which accompanies the project at all stages.
– The signing of the roadmap is a new step that brings us closer to the implementation of a large–scale project that will significantly affect both the development of the special economic zone and the entire republic. The document defines the vector of our further actions. We are currently awaiting a decision on the expansion of the SEZ territory, after which, together with the investor, we will begin applying for resident status,” said Artem Penzin, Director of the Alga SEZ management company.
Denis Rassadnikov, General Director of Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant, shared the current results of the joint venture. According to him, today they have released the first serial trolleybus, which has already entered the market. The first deliveries of equipment will begin this year.
