Representatives of Bashkortostan and Belarus exchanged experience in the field of preferential zones

The delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan visited the capital of Belarus, Minsk, where it took part in a number of working meetings with representatives of Belarus on the creation of the Bashkir–Belarusian investment cluster. The delegation included employees of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as JSC “Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan”.

– The Bashkir-Belarusian Investment Cluster project may become a new reference point for our industrial cooperation. Previously, enterprises for the production of separators for batteries, diamond cutters, petrochemical equipment, trolleybuses can become part of it,” commented Marat Islamov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

As Mikhail Izotov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, noted, the Republic of Belarus is one of the key partners of the region in the international arena in terms of implementing joint projects.

– With representatives of Belarus, we discussed the experience of implementing interstate projects and outlined new vectors of interaction. We are currently working with our federal colleagues on a new concept of Bashkir-Belarusian cooperation and joint implementation of investment projects using preferential instruments,” Mikhail Izotov said.

During the visit, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Naumovich, dedicated to the planned Bashkir-Belarusian cluster. The meeting was moderated by the Representative of Bashkortostan at the Russian Trade Mission in Belarus Konstantin Klimin. As a result, it was decided to create a working group to develop this project. The cluster involves the placement of Belarusian enterprises on the territory of Bashkortostan in the special economic zone of the industrial and production type “Alga” with the provision of additional benefits and preferences. Nail Gabbasov, Director General of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, commented on plans to develop cooperation in this direction. The Agency is the management company of the SEZ “Alga”.

— To date, we have formed a pool of companies considering the possibility of implementing their projects within the cluster. In addition, additional preferences are also being worked out, thanks to which we will be able to attract even more partners from Belarus to our production sites. In turn, the Development Corporation, as the management company of the SEZ “Alga”, will create the most comfortable conditions in terms of providing infrastructure and supporting their investment projects, Nail Gabbasov noted.

The delegation got acquainted with the work of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone” and its residents, the preferential policy pursued, and the advantages of the location. Negotiations were also held with the Administration of the Minsk Free Economic Zone. Representatives of the FEZ expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Republic of Bashkortostan in the development of preferential territories, building interaction between residents of the FEZ with enterprises in the region and the implementation of joint investment projects.

The visit of the delegation of the region to Belarus took place with the assistance of the Representative Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan at the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus.

— Today Bashkortostan and Belarus actively cooperate in the field of industrial production, agriculture, investments and culture. We see the growing interest of the fraternal republic in the Bashkortostan market and new joint projects,” said Konstantin Klimin, Head of the Representative Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan in Belarus.
