During the introductory meeting of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Director General of the Development Corporation Nail Gabbasov and Representative of Bashkortostan at the Trade Mission of Russia in Turkey Marat Tansykkuzhin with representatives of the Association of Seed Growers of Thrace of the Republic of Turkey, the participants discussed the conditions for the implementation of an investment project for the production of sunflower seed hybrids in Bashkortostan as part of the national project “International Cooperation and export.”
– Bashkortostan has an advantage — it is nature and climate, fresh water and the technologies that we have mastered over the past 10 years thanks to the experience of the world’s best manufacturers. Realizing that in recent years grain is the basis, we have developed this direction autonomously. All varieties and seeds of grain are Russian, our Bashkir. Bashkortostan, one of the main producers of buckwheat. Today we supply a lot of it to Turkey, by the way. Today we have a dependence on seeds for some crops, for example, sunflower. We aim to develop our own seed production. And here we will rely on joint ventures with friendly countries to jointly produce seeds in our republic. Here we hope for our colleagues, partners from Turkey, with whom warm relations have already developed,” Ilshat Fazrakhmanov said.
– Our partnership with Turkey is gaining momentum, we record an increase in trade turnover in the first five months of this year by 70% compared to the same period last year, while exports increased by 61%. About 30% of our supplies to Turkey were chemical industry products, we also exported wood and food products. One of the most significant roles in the growth of business activity between Bashkortostan and Turkey is played by the Republic’s Representation at the Trade Mission of Russia. This allows us to establish direct contact with our Turkish colleagues and demonstrate all the advantages of working with us,” Margarita Bolycheva shared.
The Turkish colleagues noted that they are interested in establishing partnership relations with Bashkortostan and organizing joint production. Thus, seeds produced in the republic can be shipped not only to the Russian market, but also to consumers from CIS countries and Asia. Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, told investors about the benefits and conditions of placing the enterprise in the region.
– Bashkortostan is ready to offer unprecedented support measures to potential investors. Thus, there is a special economic zone “Alga” in the republic, in which residents are provided with all the necessary infrastructure. Also, in this case, one of the main preferences will be particularly relevant – the operation of a free customs zone. Together with our Turkish colleagues, we will work out all the details of the project, after which a decision will be made on its further implementation in the region,” Nail Gabbasov explained.
In January-May 2023, the mutual trade turnover of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the Republic of Turkey increased by 70.6% compared to the same period in 2022. At the same time, exports increased by 61.4%, and imports increased by 2.95 times compared to the previous year.
